DIY No Sew Blankets for Pets
Want to help the animals in our care with a fun project? We are always in need of cozy blankets for our pets! Here are some easy to follow instructions for how to make no-sew blankets perfect to keep them comfortable for their (hopefully short) shelter stay.
How To Make No Sew Blankets
Material:
- Fleece material (1 yard will make one large blanket or two small blankets)
- Scissors (fabric scissors work best!)
Directions:
- Cut your fleece to the desired size.
- With your scissors, go around the edges of your blanket and cut 2 inch wide strips.
- Cut the corner strips out. You don’t need them!
- Go around again and cut each of the wide strips in half.
- Tie each pair of strips into double knots. If your blanket is starts to bunch up, gently tug and pull the sides straight.
Tips on blanket sizes:
- For small to medium animals: 24”x 24”.
- Larger animals: 36” x 36”.
