Veterinary Outreach Program
The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth operates and funds veterinary outreach clinics across Waterloo Region and Perth County. These clinics aim to support people who are experiencing homelessness, or who are vulnerably housed, to access preventative veterinary care for their pets.
HOW CAN PEOPLE ACCESS THE PROGRAM?
Clients and their pets are referred through case workers operating out of our partnership agencies in the community. Clients can access services through in-community clinics or via appointments at our brick and mortar shelters.
Partner agencies can also request clinics at their locations.
To qualify for the program, clients must be referred by a case worker, and currently be experiencing homelessness, or living in supportive housing.

Additional Supports
The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth does not take on clients from the public, outside of preventative care for our Veterinary Outreach Program. If you do not qualify for our Veterinary Outreach program, but are still in need of support in caring for your pet, please consider the following:
i. Our Pet Pantry, offers support for pet food when it’s needed most.
ii. The HSKWPS also offers a low-cost Spay Neuter Clinic for cats, as well as regular low-cost Rabies & Microchip clinics.
iii. Funds may be available through the Farley Foundation (available through your clinic, for existing clinic clients only) and Paws Canada (self application subsidy)
